Auto Insurance Fraud Unit (AIFU)

In 2001, in response to the increase in no-fault insurance fraud, the governor signed Executive Order 109, appointing the Attorney General special prosecutor for auto insurance fraud. Since 2002, AIFU has brought felony charges against 321 defendants, including doctors, lawyers, healthcare providers, steerers, lay people, and hospital employees.
