Are You Getting The Internet Speeds You Are Paying For?

The Office of the New York State Attorney General is investigating consumer Internet speeds. We encourage New Yorkers to test their own broadband speed at home, and submit the test to help our office determine what internet speeds consumers are receiving.

This is how you do it:

  1. Run the broadband speed test at http://internethealthtest.org/nyc
  2. Make a screen shot of the results
    1. If you are using a Windows computer, press [Ctrl-PrintScrn]. The file is saved to your clipboard. Paste it into a document in Microsoft Paint or Microsoft Word and save the document.

    2. If you are using a Macintosh computer, press [Command-Shift-3]. The file will appear on your desktop.

  3. Fill out the form below, double check it (and make sure that you’ve uploaded the screen shot).
  4. Click “Submit.”
  5. Optional - If you have time, repeat the test at different times, and upload the results.

This should take just a few minutes and could be very helpful. Thank you!
