Statement By Attorney General Eliot Spitzer Regarding The Death Of Cardinal John O'connor

I am saddened by the passing of Cardinal John O'Connor. He spoke for two million Catholics in the New York Archdiocese, but his words reverberated throughout our society. He was a forceful advocate whose views were a critical part of the public debate in New York and throughout the nation. He spoke with courage, conviction and passion. He will be remembered as a great Cardinal, a true leader of the church and a devoted pastor who touched many souls.
