Vullo has over 20 years of distinguished legal service, most recently as a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. “Maria Vullo’s vast experience with multiple facets of the law is perfectly suited to handle complicated cases that affect millions of lives,” said Attorney General Cuomo. “Her dedication and tenacity will greatly serve New Yorkers, who can take comfort knowing that such a skilled attorney is working on their behalf. I welcome Maria to public service and look forward to working with her to represent the people of New York.”

“I am honored to join a team of stellar lawyers led by Attorney General Cuomo, who have skillfully served New Yorkers and the interests of justice,” said Vullo. “I look forward to serving the people of New York in this new capacity and to focusing on economic justice at this important time.”

“Maria is an extraordinarily talented and effective lawyer, with a long track record of success representing commercial and pro bono clients,” said Brad Karp, Chairman of Paul Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. “The firm is proud, but not surprised, that Maria has answered the call to lend her talents to the New York Attorney General and New York State at this time of great need.”

Vullo has received accolades and recognition from several prominent publications, including The National Law Journal, The American Lawyer, Super Lawyers Magazine, Crain’s New York Business and Ms. Magazine. Vullo has served on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction, the Public Service Committee of the Federal Bar Council, the Aspen Institute’s Justice and Society Seminar, Sanctuary for Families’ Board of Directors and the Board of NARAL.

Prior to her tenure at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, Vullo was a law clerk to the Hon. John A. Mackenzie, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. She received a B.A. from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
