A.G. Schneiderman Taps Local Attorney To Head Plattsburgh Regional Office

Experienced Assistant Attorney General To Lead Plattsburgh Team

PLATTSBURGH - Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced that he has appointed local attorney Glen Michaels as Assistant Attorney General In-Charge of the Plattsburgh Regional office.

Michaels has been with the Attorney General's Plattsburgh office since 2000 serving as an Assistant Attorney General. He handles a wide variety of legal matters including investigations and litigation of consumer protection, mental hygiene, not-for-profit and charitable giving matters.

"Glen is an incredibly dedicated, experienced and skilled attorney who has spent years working on the behalf of New Yorkers in the North Country," said Attorney General Schneiderman. "I am confident in his ability to lead the Plattsburgh Regional office and serve the public with the utmost integrity and commitment to justice."

“I am proud to have served the State of New York and the people of this region as an Assistant Attorney General these past 11 years," said Michaels.  "I am honored now to work for Attorney General Schneiderman as AAG In-Charge of his Plattsburgh Regional Office.”

In June, Attorney General Schneiderman also tapped Michaels to be the region's public integrity officer. The move is part of Schneiderman's sweeping reform initiative to restore confidence in the public sector. The Attorney General has placed public integrity officers in all of the regional offices across the state to police local government corruption. Michaels will continue his role as well as overseeing the Plattsburgh office.

He replaces former Assistant Attorney General In-Charge of the Plattsburgh Regional office, Robert Glennon, who retired in September.

In addition to Plattsburgh, the Attorney General has regional offices outside of New York City in Buffalo, Binghamton, Long Island, Poughkeepsie, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Watertown and Westchester.
