Statement By A.G. Schneiderman On Today's EPA Proposal Limiting Climate Change Pollution From New Power Plants
NEW YORK – The following quote is attributable to Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman with regard to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's proposal today of federal regulations limiting the emissions of climate change pollution from new fossil-fueled power plants:
“The EPA’s proposal today is a critical step forward in fighting the grave dangers posed to our state, our nation and the world by climate change pollution. I congratulate the Obama Administration for taking this important step to reduce the impacts of climate change by putting much needed controls on future fossil-fuel power plants. Now, my office is looking forward to working with the administration to promptly set strong limits on climate change pollution from existing power plants – the nation's largest source of emissions that are changing our climate and threatening our children’s future.”
