New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman released the following statement in response to a federal judge in Hawaii blocking President Trump’s most recent travel ban:

“It’s clear that President Trump’s third travel ban is still a Muslim Ban by another name, with the same unlawful goals as the first and the second – and I’m glad that today, the court stopped it from taking effect.

“Since January, our coalition of Attorneys General has successfully beaten back these discriminatory, un-American, and unconstitutional bans. In particular, I commend my colleague Hawaii Attorney General Doug Chin for his leadership on this issue, and we stand ready to continue supporting his efforts in Hawaii.

“We’ll continue to aggressively pursue our claims against President Trump’s draconian Muslim ban, to protect New York’s families, businesses, and institutions.”

Last week, Attorney General Schneiderman and a coalition of Attorneys General challenged the third ban, filing a motion for a temporary restraining order and amending their original lawsuit.
