STATEMENT FROM ATTORNEY GENERAL SCHNEIDERMAN ON NYS DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES’ RELICENSING RULES FOR REPEAT DWI OFFENDERS

NEW YORK - Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman issued the following statement:

“I’m pleased that the Court of Appeals has unanimously upheld the DMV’s drunk-driving regulations. It’s common sense: the DMV should have the right to reject new license applications for repeat drunk driving offenders. Today’s court decision confirms the DMV’s authority to keep New Yorkers safe and keep repeat drunk drivers off the roads.”
