A.G. UNDERWOOD ANNOUNCES COURT WIN IN LAWSUIT OVER CHEMICAL ACCIDENT SAFETY RULE
NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood released the following statement after a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, blocking the Trump administration from delaying a vital rule meant to protect communities, workers, and first responders from dangerous chemical accidents:
“Again and again, the Trump EPA has tried to push through policies that jeopardize our health and fly in the face of the law – and again and again, we've taken them to court and won.
We should all agree that protecting workers, first responders, and communities from chemical accidents is a top priority. This decision is a major victory for New Yorkers’ – and Americans’ – health and safety, ensuring that the EPA cannot put special interests first and block common sense protections against toxic chemical accidents.
We will continue to do what's necessary to protect New Yorkers, no matter what happens in Washington.”
