STATEMENT FROM A.G. UNDERWOOD ON TITLE X PROPOSED RULE PUBLISHED TODAY

“The Trump Administration’s latest attacks on women’s reproductive rights are, simply, outrageous. We’ll explore every avenue to protect women’s access to all available reproductive health care services.

Today’s action is yet another assault on the rights of women to make fully-informed choices about their health. Under the proposed rule, health care professionals will be barred from providing their patients with medically necessary information about abortion or referrals to abortion providers.

We’ll do what’s necessary to protect the health of all New Yorkers. That includes opposing the Trump Administration’s effort to interfere in the doctor-patient relationship and block women’s access to the knowledge and family planning services they need.”
