STATEMENT FROM NY A.G. PRESS SECRETARY AMY SPITALNICK

Last week, Governor Cuomo provided a formal referral to the Office of the Attorney General to investigate recent sexual assault investigations conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and NYPD’s Special Victim’s Unit.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman will soon appoint a special deputy attorney general to lead the investigation.

New York Attorney General Press Secretary Amy Spitalnick issued the following statement:

“We are committed to pursuing a comprehensive, fair, and independent investigation.”
