A.G. SCHNEIDERMAN STATEMENT ON SCOTUS TRAVEL BAN DECISION

New  York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released the following statement in response to today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding President Trump’s immigration ban:

“Today’s Supreme Court decision affirmed what we all know: grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are close family members and should be protected from President Trump’s immigration ban.

While this decision marks an important step, our fight continues. Our coalition of Attorneys General won’t stop protecting the communities and states we serve, as we beat back this unconstitutional, unlawful, and un-American ban.”

Attorney General Schneiderman has led a number of amicus briefs arguing that grandparents and other close relatives of U.S. residents should be protected from President Trump’s travel ban.
