Star Toyota of Bayside Settlement
The New York State Office of the Attorney General has entered into a settlement with Star Toyota of Bayside to resolve an investigation of that dealership’s deceptive sales practices against Chinese-speaking consumers. This settlement allows certain additional consumers to potentially obtain partial refunds if they file complaints by February 27, 2021 .
To be eligible for a refund, you must have been cheated by Star Toyota while buying a used car between January 1, 2014, and March 1, 2018, after negotiating the sale terms in Chinese. Any claims that allege the type of deceptive business practices identified in the Attorney General’s investigation will be considered for possible compensation.
If you fit these criteria, you may file a claim online. Online claims can be filed in Traditional Chinese or filed in Simplified Chinese.
Alternatively, you may mail us a paper claim in English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. All claim forms must be postmarked by February 27, 2021. You may include copies of your sales or lending contracts if they are available, or you may include any other documents you believe would help us understand your claim.
