After U.S. Supreme Court Loss, Trump Administration Agrees to Print Census Without Citizenship Question

NEW YORK – Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement after the Trump Administration gave up on their quest to add a citizenship question to the 2020 decennial census:

“Today’s news is a victory for New York State, for America, and for every single person in this nation.

“While the Trump Administration may have attempted to politicize the census and punish cities and states across the nation, justice prevailed, and the census will continue to remain a tool for obtaining an accurate count of our population.

“Now is the time to shift gears and begin robust education and outreach campaigns to ensure each person in this country is counted. Everyone counts, therefore everyone must be counted.”
