Attorney General James on Attack in Jersey City

NEW YORK – Attorney General Letitia James released the following statement in response to yesterday’s attack in Jersey City, New Jersey that claimed the lives of a police officer and three civilians:

“I am deeply saddened by yesterday’s attack in Jersey City that claimed the life of Detective Joe Seals, a 15-year law enforcement veteran, and the lives of three innocent civilians, Mindel Ferencz, Moshe Deutch, and Miguel Douglas. While the investigation is still ongoing, the reports about law enforcement and the Jewish community being intentionally targeted are deeply disturbing. Every single day we are reminded about the poisonous bigotry that has infected our country. We must and we will match this hatred with a resolve to protect our neighbors and root out intolerance from our society. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all those who were impacted by this horrific attack. All of New York stands tall with New Jersey today.”
